Hurricane Fiona Cabo Rojo Relief

Fundación CREPS joined forces with Fundación Mochileando 100×35 and Universidad Central del Caribe in their humanitarian aid efforts aimed at assisting the island’s recovery following the devastating Hurricane Fiona. Our joint mission involved swiftly and directly collecting and delivering essential supplies to affected communities within a tight 24 to 48-hour timeframe. A total of three trucks, loaded with supplies valued at $18,000, were dispatched to various locations across the island, including Salinas, Yabucoa, Maunabo, Hormigueros, Mayagüez, and Cabo Rojo. We diligently distributed vital provisions such as water, medications, hygiene items, baby food, and toys for children. One of the trucks carried a generous supply of food for dogs and cats, which was destined for the Santuario de San Francisco de Asís in Cabo Rojo. The sanctuary had been flooded, necessitating the use of boats for access and aid delivery. As part of our comprehensive efforts, we extended our support by actively engaging in the laborious task of cleaning and restoring houses that had suffered extensive damage in the aftermath of the hurricane, ensuring that affected individuals and families could regain a sense of normalcy and hope in their restored living spaces. Our collaborative endeavors not only facilitated a speedy recovery but also provided invaluable emotional support to those affected.
